2021-2022 SDCMS Board of Directors Elections Slate
Prior to the February 23, 2021 Board of Directors meeting, SDCMS’s Nominating Committee will convene and consider the following proposed slate of SDCMS Board of Directors candidates for 2021–2022.
Officers:
· President–Elect: Dr. Toluwalase (Lase) Ajayi (one-year term)
· Secretary: Dr. Nicholas Yphantides (one-year term)
· Treasurer: Dr. Heidi Meyer (one-year term)
Incumbents Seeking Re-election:
· At–Large Director # 7: Dr. Karl Steinberg (three-year term)
· Kearny Mesa Director #1: Dr. Anthony Magit (three-year term)
· South Bay Director #2: Dr. Maria Carriedo (three-year term)
· CMA District I Delegate: Dr. Karrar Ali (three-year term)
· CMA District I Delegate: Dr. Franklin Martin (three-year term)
· CMA District I Delegate: Dr. Wayne Sun (three-year term)
· YPS Director: Dr. Brian Rebolledo (one-year term)
· Resident Director: Dr. Nicole Herrick (one-year term)
Incumbents Seeking New Office:
· AMA District I Delegate: Dr. Mihir Parikh (three-year term)
· At–Large Director #2: Dr. Kelly Motadel (three-year term)
· South Bay Director #1: Dr. Paul Manos (one-year term)
· CMA District I Delegate: Dr. James Schultz (three-year term)
· CMA District I Delegate: Dr. Patrick Tellez (three-year term)
New Board Members:
· North County Director #1: Dr. Arlene Morales (three-year term)
· North County Director #3: Dr. Nina Chaya (three-year term)
Nomination by Petition: Pending final approval of the proposed slate by the SDCMS Board of Directors on Feb 23, 2021, SDCMS bylaws allow for nomination by petition. If the requisite number of signatures is received, the petitioner will be placed on the ballot. For details on the number of signatures required, email Paul Hegyi at Hegyi@SDCMS.org. Nomination petitions may be mailed to SDCMS (Attn: Paul Hegyi), 8690 Aero Drive, Suite 115-220, San Diego, CA 92123.
Candidacy Statements: If the petitioner would like their candidacy statement published in San Diego Physician magazine, it must be received by February 19, 2021; otherwise, completed petitions must be received at SDCMS no later than April 1, 2021.
Requirements for Candidacy: The physician candidate must have been a member of SDCMS for at least two years on the date of assumption of duties: June 2021.
Requirements for Office:
· Officers: Attend monthly Executive Committee meetings; attend quarterly BOD meetings; attend the annual BOD retreat; attend the 2021 CMA House of Delegates (October 23–24, 2021).
· Geographic Directors, At–Large Directors, District I Delegates, YPS Director and Resident Director: Attend quarterly BOD meetings; attend the annual BOD retreat; attend the 2021 CMA House of Delegates (October 23–24, 2021).
