NYCU March 31, 2020 April 7, 2020 COVID-19 0 TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2020 PHYSICIANS: The California Medical Association has put together an extremely helpful and important document “Financial Assistance for Medical Practices During the COVID–19 Pandemic” which is being updated frequently and you can access here. The American Medical Association has created a Health Care Highlights document discussing how the CARES Act, the Federal Coronavirus Relief Law passed by Congress, impacts physicians, physician practices, medical students and the health care system which you can access here. The Joint Commission supports allowing staff to bring their own standard face masks or respirators to wear at work when their healthcare organizations cannot routinely provide access to protective equipment that is commensurate with the risk to which they are exposed. This Thursday, April 2, 2020, from 6:00–7:30pm is the next COVID–19 Clinical Town Hall Webinar organized by the County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency and sponsored by the San Diego County Medical Society and the Hospital Association of San Diego & Imperial Counties. Registration is required. If you missed the two previous town halls they are viewable online for both March 26th and March 18th. SDCMS is also working to identify physicians and other medical professionals that are willing to help care for both COVID–19 and non Covid–19 patients in our county. To pursue volunteer opportunities please submit an online Physician Registration Form and all other Medical Professionals can submit a Nurse/Ancillary Registration Form. The Univ. of Minnesota is seeking healthcare workers with known exposure or a confirmed diagnosis for COVID–19 for a study to determine if hydroxychloroquine can help prevent or treat COVID–19.
