NYCU June 4, 2019 June 4, 2019 CMA, CMA Benefits, General, Infectious Disease, Leadership, new, Public Health, SDCMS 0 TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 2019 PHYSICIANS: The San Diego County Medical Society hosted its ‘Rendezvous by the Bay’ less than two weeks ago at Paradise Point Resort. San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer honored us by delivering welcoming remarks for this tremendously successful event. SDCMS also installed our new leadership for 2019—2020. Thank you to Dr. David E. J. Bazzo for a job well done and welcome to our new President, Dr. James H. Schultz, Jr, and new President-elect, Dr. Holly B. Yang, along with a number of new Board Members and Officers. We are grateful for all the time, energy and expertise our volunteer leadership gives to SDCMS and the California Medical Association to protect the best interests of local physicians and their patients. It is physicians like Dr. Bazzo and Dr. Schultz who make this organization so successful and effective. This next year promises to be an exciting one with health care at the top of the public policy agenda in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. and CMA/SDCMS playing a central role in those decisions. As I write this, I am in Washington, D.C. with San Diego physicians to meet with key Members of Congress who impact health care policy. Working with Dr. Schultz and the other SDCMS Board Members, I look forward to ensuring that in the next year SDCMS continues to be an effective advocate and resource for San Diego’s physician community.
